Made of Type 316L Stainless Steel, this specially tempered wire has a different feel than other half-hard materials such as Gold-filled or Sterling Silver, and it is a great alternative and is stronger. This material is perfect for teaching classes and practice. Ideal for all types of wire-wrapping, weight-bearing designs, and holding designs together. Stainless Steel is harder and will work harden faster than other wires, and resembles the finish of vintage platinum.

Nice wire!

I've made other projects with silver wire, only to have it tarnish. The projects I've used THIS wire on, tarnish also, but cleaning it with a Jewelry cleaning cloth is much easier, than with other wire and it doesn't tarnish as quickly. Easy to work with, too!
