Our Surgical Stainless Steel Cable Chain consrtucted with 3.7mm x 3mm links which alternate between lying horizontally and vertically. This chain is made from solid marine grade 316 Stainless Steel and is impervious to corrosion, rust and tarnishing. Stainless Steel is popular for use in either medical or religious jewelry as it can be worn under any circumstance. Dangle your favorite charm, symbol, pendant, beads or baubles from the links to create your own unique design. Use it for necklaces, bracelets, anklets and shorter lengths for earrings. The Stainless Steel silver color will complement any palette.

This Surgical Stainless Steel Chain features a Cable Link design. Surgical Stainless Steel is a hypo-allergenic metal which is perfect for anyone who suffers from allergies to nickel. Although all Surgical Stainless Steel contains nickel in trace amounts, the nickel is stabilized with the Stainless Steel and is considered to be safe for anyone who may have nickel allergies. Our products are made from high grade #316 or #430 Surgical Stainless Steel and meet the Mayo Clinic recommendations as well as the EU Nickel Directive. Surgical Stainless Steel is a great metal for jewelry making as it never tarnishes.

Q: this comes in 12" lengths. If I order 20 - 12" lengths will it be in on piece of 240"?

A: This chain is available in a maximum length spool of 50 feet. So if you order 240 feet you'll receive four spools of 50 feet and one spool of 40 feet. Thanks

Q: Would this be thin enough for threader earrings?

A: No, these would not accommodate a standard sized pierced ear (gauged ears are a different story!). A threaded earring is typically using chain that is 22ga to 20ga in diameter (0.64mm to 0.82mm respectively).
This chain is 3mm in diameter, making it equal to approx. 10ga in thickness.

A: The links are not soldered. Most surgical stainless steel doesn't need to be soldered due to it's strength and durability.
