This Sterling Silver Clam Shell Bead Tip features a 3.5mm Cup, and is designed for attaching to Clasps and End Caps. Slip your Silk Bead Cord, Elasticity Cord, or any other Stringing material through the hole in the bottom of the Bead Tip, tie your knot, close the two halves together, and you've created an attractive Bead which hides the knot.

Great design for knotted-beaded jewelry!

I produce custom one-of-a-kind knotted/beaded necklaces, bracelets, etc. on my website using all sorts of genuine gemstone beaded jewelry. In both gold and silver, these clamshell type bead tips are the best design to use to secure the end knot! I needed a bunch so I ordered a bunch. Price was good as well!

A: While that is a great idea, I don't think it was originally meant too. It just gets closed and is close to the clam part.

Q: Do you have instructions on how to close this clam shell after placing the thread in it?

A: Once you have strung it on your strand and then tied your knot you can use chain nose pliers to gently close the clam. Then use chain nose pliers to close the loop once you have attached your clasp to the loop.
